In “Historians on Trump: We've never seen anything like this” Opinion by Elizabeth A. Cobbs, Kyle Longley, Kenneth Osgood, and Jeremi Suri. They argue about how president trump is taking advantage of being in the oval office and using the executive branch for his own advantage, the presidents argues that he is focusing on solving corruptions, but he is only focusing on his strongest opponent from the democratic party. At first, I thought it was just the press wanting to make headlines, but after reading this article I realized that compared to past presidents Donald Trump has been asking many leaders for favors in exchange for information about opponents and information to take down potential candidates who can take down his chances of reelection. Looking back 230 years ago, we have never heard of any major scandals as much as we have with president trump. The fact that he had the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky do him a “favor” sounds very suspicious, the president withheld monetary resources that would help them fight Russia a country that’s trying to invade Ukraine. President Trump is making foreign policy decisions in an irrational matter and just fulfilling what is going to be best for his reelection a the question is, why Joe Biden, why now? President Trump is not looking out for the nation, he is looking out for himself. President Trump has shown a pattern of behaviors and looking back in his early days as president he also asked ex Mexican president Pena Nieto for help by paying for the border wall that he promised to his republican supporters something that is being paid by every U.S.A. taxpayers instead of Mexico as he promised. Many things had changed with this current president as historians argue but it's not a good change because it's just showing weaknesses in our country to other nations.
